Dunsters Farm is a family-run food service, supplying food and drink products to many businesses across the North of England for over 50 years. We had the opportunity of working with them recently, when we assisted 4 of their staff members in growing a new skillset. We checked in with Ben, to see what he thought of the process.
Staff members from the Dunsters Farm Warehouse team completed two qualifications- a Level 2 Certificate in Warehousing & Storage and a Certificate in Warehousing and Storage Principles (RQF), and received their well-earned certificates after 6 months of study.
Ben Stocks, Paul McGuinness, Lewis Stocks and Kevin Wilde have built on their existing knowledge in a host of relevant areas including but not limited to logistical operations, equipment maintenance, and safety & security.
Ben Stocks said of the training he undertook;
“The training was knowledgeable and fun. It helped improve my efficiency in all elements of my day-to-day role, and create new operational procedures to help ensure everything runs safely and securely in the depot.
“I’d like to thank Ian (Our Skills Development Coach) and the Growth Company for their support and motivation. On the back of this training, I’ve now committed to another training course in Team Leading!”
Ian Maidment, one of our Skills Development Coaches and one of the coaches assigned to these learners, said of the team’s qualification;
“Each learner will have benefited from the contents of the course and have a better understanding of their individual skills used in their job roles. They will also feel valued by being able to undertake the qualifications and be able to take pride in their roles and how important everyone is and be able to understand why they do what they do.
“All who took part in this were fully committed and engaged, putting in the effort required to complete and achieve.”
